Excellent experience, especially coming in close to closing hours and didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be back!

Came here on a Thursday night around 7pm and was told the wait was an hour a half without reservations so I put my name on the list and waited. I'm glad I did cause boy the skewers were worth the wait! I tried the beef, beef tendon, lamb and corn skewers and they were all delicious and super flavorful with the seasoning powder they use to season them with. The concept is so unique, you order the skewers you would like and it comes to the table and you cook them yourself in front of you. I really enjoyed it because each skewer was so juicy! I wish I was able to eat more and try more items on their menu but I was stuffed so I will be back!

Going to Honolulu was supposed to be about trying different cuisine and eating lots of fresh fish. Instead we ate here two days in a row. This really is a hidden gem. Even in the bay area, Chinese BBQ isn't super common and the ones that exist are pretty subpar. Honolulu Skewer House unexpectedly blew me away. Authentic and deliciously spicy, the skewers here are a step above what I'm used to. The only thing I wished for is a bigger stomach so I could order more! I highly recommend the beef and pork jowl skewers. The grilled eggplant was great as well. Usually restaurants overcook it and burn the skin, but it was perfectly cooked here. You can expect a 30 minute wait, but the service is quick. Ambiance is lacking a bit, but who cares. The food here is excellent and I might just come back tomorrow!

Wow!!! I've never had Northern style Chinese food like this! It was our first time so we went with the 2 person special ($80) that came w/ 2 appetizers, 9 different skewers (sets of 2), & w other dishes! Great way to try out different kinds of skewers, I recommend it! The Braised beef salad was my favorite. All the skewers were tasty!! We will definitely come back. Cute place, nice servers, & great customer service! They too it off with a yummy snack at the end!

Fun place to go with a group! The service was fast and attentive. Our favorites: - Get the House Tofu Salad and Scallion Tossed noodles so you have a yummy snack while you're waiting for your meat to cook. Actually the noodles were my favorite thing of the whole meal. - Beef and black pork belly were yummy and substantial. I wanted to try some new things too, but these basics were actually the best tasting things to me - Lamb! I thought this was unique, you don't see this at yakitori You can skip: - Hanging pork - it looks cool! The pork was tender, but I think since it comes precooked it was cold compared to the fresh of the grill meat and not as flavorful since it's not marinated like the other stuff - Brisket with tendon. It had a nice flavor, but I would rather just eat their Beef. This one was just tiny pieces of meat with crispy tendon to chew on. - White rice. Yeah I know we're locals, we wanna have rice with our meat! But the rice was junk and you can skip it for $2.99 per person. Just get more noodles instead! Next time I would try some of their seafood! The next table over had whole shrimp and grilled oysters!

Not a big place but the set up is very cozy. Food came out relatively quick. Beef is super good and easy to cook. Pork belly also is a must try. All other items like seafood, vege and other meats are toward a bit spicy. Service was excellent, gave us a quick lesson on how long to cook various of items and still patiently explaining it over and over again. Everyone used their phone's timer in the restaurant so I wasn't sure which one was mine, but luckily didn't over cook or burn my food.

Great quality meat and seafood. Interesting self grilling concept with mechanical machines that self rotate each skewer. Beef, lamb, intestine, pork belly, abalone, oysters and scallops. Everything is good. The grill oyster is the best. It is very fresh and they top it off with garlic chili sauce. Even the edamame appetizer (on the house) is seasoned to perfection. Limited free parking at the back lot. Lots of paid parking across the street.

Fun place. Machine on table will roll and grill your skewers to make sure even heating for you. Limited seatings is an issue so better call ahead and make reservation. Ordered its "H2. Pork Sliders" based on its chinese menu and was expecting it would come with tradtional baked buns, but was surpised when it served with steam bun instead. However, it's still very tasty. Good place to bring friends, or try something new. But expect to get rushed a bit if other customers are waiting outside.
